YOUR SAFETY

Your safety is our highest priority and this is one of the reasons why we send an experiened, English-speaking local and /or Western guide on all of our trips. Additionally, there is also available back-up and rescue facilities in each of the areas we visit.

FOOD AND HEALTH ON THE TRIP

On trek, we make sure that food is always expertly and hygienically prepared. Good health makes for an enjoyable trek and is of prime concern to us. We are accustomed to catering for vegetarians, gluten-free diets and make a special effort to provide as much variety as possible.

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE ON TREK

You need to make sure that the weight of your personal equipment packed into your trekking duffel bag to a maximum of 33 pounds.

A TYPICAL DAY

While on trek, our walking hours are governed by the sun. Depending on the day ahead, breakfast is taken not long after the sun has risen (and sometimes well before). The morning's hike is around 3 to 4 hours, before stopping for lunch. We walk for a further 2 to 4 hours, and attempt to reach our camping place by mid to late afternoon. After setting up camp or checking into our lodge, there is usually time to rest or to explore, prior to the evening meal, at around 7 p.m. As the nights are typically cold, most people opt to brush their teeth and hop into their warm sleeping bags.

CAMPING FACILITIES

For the majority of our trekking trips our overseas agents supply roomy two-man tents with protective groundsheets. An eating tent, cook's tent, latrine tent, stools, plates, cutlery etc. are all provided.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

Our office recommends booking your flights directly with your airline of choice. Many of our travelers have been using Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Cathy Pacific, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines and Emirates. Direct booking allows ease in making your reservation and having just one direct contact in terms of possible schedule changes and financial security. From all the change, cancel and refund transactions since the onset of COVID-19, Singapore Airlines has been the easiest to work with and offering superb customer service in every possible way. Whichever carrier you decide to go with, please make sure to understand their change, cancel and refund policies.

It is always best to purchase your domestic flights and your international flights on one ticket. Most carriers are members of an airline alliance, which should not make this a problem. This way you and your checked luggage are booked and tracked under one reservation code. Again, please make sure your airline ticket dates can be changed and/or ticket refunded with the minimum of penalties.
