Welcome to The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu!
The Salkantay Luxury Lodge Trek to Machu Picchu is part of our Worldwide Adventure Tours Series and arranged in conjunction with Mountain Lodges of Peru. Group departures are planned to depart every week from March through December. Day 1: Trek from Cusco to Salkantay Lodge. 12,690 feet / 3,869 meters. 6 hour trek.
Day 2: Day hike to Humantay Lake. 4 hour hike. Salkantay Lodge.
Day 3: Cross the Salkantay Pass at 15,213 feet / 4,638 meters. 6 to 8 hour hike. Wayra Lodge.
Day 4: Descending into the Cloud Forest. 9,414 feet / 2,870 meters. 3 to 4 hour trek. Colpa Lodge.
Day 5: Following the Santa Teresa River Valley. 7,003 feet / 2,135 meters. 5 to 6 hour trek. Lucma Lodge.
Day 6: Machu Picchu from the Llactapata Pass. 6,232 feet / 1,900 meters. 4 to 6 hour trek. Hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 7: Visit Machu Picchu and return to Cusco.
