August 31 to September 22, 2025: Trekking Across India’s Land of Passes
Join us in 2025 on a trek across the remote land of Zanskar. Zanskar translates as ‘Land of White Copper’, a once remote collection of Himalayan kingdoms cut off from the rest of the world by the Himalayan Range to the south and the Zanskar Range to the north. Our recently revised and incredibly improved Zanskar Traverse begins with an exciting flight to the frontier town of Leh in the upper Indus Valley. We then take a scenic overland journey, along the Leh-Manali Highway, to the starting point of our unique route. At Gatta Loops we will meet our support crew and horse team and begin our epic walk, following the raging Tserap Chu River into ancient Zanskar. Our little-traveled route will offer challenges in the form of swift river crossings, plentiful pass crossings and high elevation campsites in remote settings and offering access to remote villages.
Zanskar is also a photographer’s dream. Each day provides access to expansive mountain panoramas, picturesque farming villages and pastel colored landscapes. This is one of the most visually stunning experiences in the Himalaya!
