HIKING TO MOUNT EVEREST – THE WORLD’S HIGHEST PEAK

  • Hike through picturesque Sherpa villages
  • Climb to the top of Kala Pattar (18,188 feet)
  • Exciting helicopter flight from Gorakshep
  • Spectacular big-time Himalayan mountain views
  • Visit Everest Base Camp & Khumbu Icefall

Ok, you’ve asked for it and here it is! With a helicopter flight from Gorakshep back to Kathmandu, we are able to offer our new 13 day trekking experience to Everest Base Camp.

Our classic Everest Base Camp Lodge Trek trip begins with a spectacular airplane flight from Kathmandu to the 9,000-foot airstrip at the mountain village of Lukla. We then follow the traditional expedition route to the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu, the village of Namche Bazaar and onwards, alongside the raging Imja Khola River to the high valley below Mount Everest. En route to the world’s highest peak, we will visit many picturesque Sherpa villages. Tengboche, the home of Nepal’s most famous monastery, is situated beneath the impressive backdrop of Everest and Ama Dablam. We have also included the option of hiking to the top of the viewpoint peak of Kala Pattar (18,188 feet), which will afford our hard effort with extraordinary views of Nuptse, Everest, Lhotse and Pumori. This relatively easy-paced, fully-supported lodge trek in the Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) allows us to enjoy an excellent introduction to trekking in Nepal and provide a unique insight into the ‘Land of the Sherpa’ and home to the highest point on the planet – Mount Everest. We return to Kathmandu by an exciting helicopter flight from Gorakshep Village.

The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Lodge Trek is part of our Himalayan Classic Trek Series. Our Classic Treks are led by an experienced, English-speaking Nepali guide and porter support crew. In 2024, we are able to arrange this trek starting on any day of the week during the months of March through May and September through December for groups of 1 to 4 people.
