The Mount Everest National Park has been a popular destination for trekkers and climbers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1950’s. Our Gokyo Lakes to Mount Everest Trek makes a unique looping circuit, includes the crossing of the Renjo La Pass and provides a high-altitude challenge for the hiker looking to get off the beaten path and away from the crowds. This trek offers unique views of the spectacular mountain scenery in the Everest region. We will also have the option of hiking to the top of the beautiful viewpoint summit of Gokyo Ri (17,585ft/5,360m), which affords 360 degree panoramas of the Gokyo Valley and above to Mount Everest and her lofty, snow-capped neighbors. The unrivaled scenery and relative solitude of these dramatic mountain valleys are well worth the effort of this demanding trek.

Trip Outline

  1. Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu. Met on arrival. Transfer to hotel.
  2. Day 2: Free day in Kathmandu or afternoon drive to Ramechap. Hotel.
  3. Day 3: Fly to Lukla. Trek to Phakding. 8,900 feet. 3 to 4 hour trek.
  4. Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar. 11,150 feet. 5 to 6 hour trek.
  5. Day 5: Rest and acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.
  6. Day 6: Trek to Thame. 12,530 feet. 5 to 6 hour trek.
  7. Day 7: Trek to Marlung Village. 13,780 feet. 4 to 5 hour trek.
  8. Day 8: Acclimatization hike towards the Nangpa La pass.
  9. Day 9: Trek over the Renjo La Pass to Gokyo Lakes. 7 to 8 hour trek.
  10. Day 10: Ascent of Gokyo Ri. Afternoon for exploring. 4 to 5 hour trek.
  11. Day 11: Trek to Dole Village. 13,345 feet. 4 to 5 hour trek.
  12. Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar, 12,800 feet. 6 hour trek.
  13. Day 13: Trek to Lukla. 9,200 feet. 5 hour trek.
  14. Day 14: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu or fly to Ramechap and drive to Kathmandu. Hotel.
  15. Day 15: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu. Hotel.
  16. Day 16: Transfer to airport for departure.
