In 2025, we started offering the Khopra Ridge as an extension to our Annapurna North Base Camp Trek. After receiving great feedback from several recent groups, it became apparent that the hike to Khopra Ridge and Khayer Lake deserved to be its own trip. So…now it is!
Yes, the Annapurna area is popular, but Khopra Ridge offers a less traveled, less commercialized hike which supports the local communities and affords some of the best views in the region. The Khopra Ridge is a spectacular section of the longer Annapurna-Dhaulagiri Community Trail. The idea behind this trail is to support the local communities, schools and health clinics along the route. Part of your trip cost goes towards achieving this goal. This hike in the beautiful Annapurna Range is a great alternative if you want to escape the crowds, visit small farming communities and experience outstanding views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.
Our new Khopra Ridge Lodge Trek is part of our Himalayan Classic Trek Series. We are able to arrange this trip as a private departure for you and your travel companions beginning on any date during the months of late March through May and mid-September to late November for a group of 1 to 10 people

- Day 1. Welcome to Nepal and the Himalayas!
- Day 2: Morning sightseeing tour in and around Kathmandu Valley. Hotel.
- Day 3: Fly to Pokhara (2,820 feet). Hotel.
- Day 4: Drive to Bhirethati (3,300 feet) and hike to Tirkhedhunga (4,675 feet). A 6-hour day. Lodge.
- Day 5: Hike to Ghorepani Village (9,463 feet). 6-hour hike. Lodge.
- Day 6: Himalayan sunrise on Poon Hill. Hike to Sauta (7,220 feet). 5-hour hike. Lodge.
- Day 7: Hike to Chistibung (10,990 feet). 5 hour hike. Lodge.
- Day 8: Hike to Khopra Ridge (12,695 feet). 3 hour hike. Lodge.
- Day 9: On Khopra Ridge. Day hike to Khayer Lake. 6 hours of hiking. Lodge.
- Day 10: Hike to Dobato (11,220 feet). 5 hour hike. Lodge.
- Day 11: Trek to Ghandruk Village (6,655 feet) via Tadapani. 6 hour hike. Lodge.
- Day 12: Hike to the roadhead and drive to Pokhara. A 3 to 4 hour day. Hotel.
- Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to our hotel.
- Day 14: Transfer to Kathmandu Airport for our return flights.
